DR. JAMILIA LAND
Jamilia Land is a visionary champion of justice, architect of change, and trailblazing reformist whose groundbreaking work spans criminal justice reform, mental health advocacy, and equity-driven initiatives. As the Director of the Anti-Violence, Safety, and Accountability Project (A.S.A.P.), Land spearheads transformative efforts to support families impacted by gun violence and incarceration, driving meaningtul change at the intersections of policy, advocacy, and restorative justice.
A passionate abolitionist, Land is the co founder of the Abolish Slavery National Network, a coalition committod to eradicating constitutional slavery in all its forms and the founder of the National Coalition to Enci Felony Murder, where she has been instrumental in aavanding logisiation to dismantle systomic inequities. Her legislative accomplishments include the development ane advocacy of pivotal bills such as SB1437, reforming) California's Felony Murder Rule: SB1421, expanding transparency in low enforcement records: and SB300 restoring udicial discretion in sentencing Land nas also championed constitutional measures like ACA 8 and Proposition B, critical initiatives ensuring the abolition of voluntary servituce and the protection of human dignity for incarcerated individucis.

In her role as an Executive Board Member at Large for Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA), Land amplifies the voices of marginalized communities by fostering leadership development, political empowerment, and advocacy for Black women, Her leadership extends to serving on the board of EDIFYE and previously with the Women's Civic Improvement Club and March On, where she leveraged her expertise to drive equity, justice, and inclusion.
Through her leadership of the T.R.U.T.H. Sessions Program, Land has implemented restorative practices within correctional facilities, promoting accountability, healing and rehabllitation among incarcerated individuals. She is also a driving force behind the "Walk For Life" Documentary Project, which was filmed during the 2025 LWOP Sponsored Walk For Life Walk-a-thon. This powerful documentary delves deeply into themes of incarceration, resilence, and redemption, shedding light on the human storles behind the fight for justice and reform.
